Calculate payment gateway fees fast. Find total fees, net amount, or required payment using fee rate, fixed fee, and international fee.
A payment gateway fee calculator helps you find the cost of a payment. It can also show how much money you keep after fees. This calculator supports two modes. The Forward mode starts with a payment amount. The Reverse mode starts with the net amount you want to receive. You can enter a fee rate, fixed fee, and optional international fee. The calculator also supports USD, BDT, EUR, GBP, and INR, and can be used to estimate dividend yield.
Use the calculator above to estimate your payment gateway fee or required customer payment.
A payment gateway fee calculator estimates charges taken from a payment. It uses the fee rate and fixed fee you enter. An optional international fee can also increase the rate.
The result shows the fee amount and the money left after fees. In reverse mode, it shows the payment needed to reach your target net amount.
This can help sellers, stores, freelancers, and online businesses check payment costs before a transaction.
This calculator has two calculation modes.
Forward mode starts with the transaction amount. It finds the percentage fee, total fee, and net amount.
Reverse mode starts with your desired net amount. It finds the gross payment needed after gateway fees.
The main inputs are:
The international fee is optional. If you leave it blank, the calculator treats it as 0%.
The calculator adds the base fee rate and international fee. It then uses that combined rate in the calculation.
Forward Formula
First, find the effective fee rate:
Effective Fee Rate = Fee Rate + International Fee
Then find the percentage fee:
Percentage Fee = Transaction Amount × (Effective Fee Rate ÷ 100)
Next, add the fixed fee:
Total Gateway Fee = Percentage Fee + Fixed Fee
Finally, find the net amount:
Net Amount = Transaction Amount − Total Gateway Fee
These formulas match the forward calculation logic in the calculator code.
Reverse Formula
The reverse calculation uses:
Required Payment = (Desired Net Amount + Fixed Fee) ÷ (1 − Effective Fee Rate ÷ 100)
Then:
Gateway Fee = Required Payment − Desired Net Amount
The combined fee rate must stay below 100%. This keeps the reverse formula valid.
The calculator checks that amounts are valid. It also checks that fee rates stay within the allowed range.
Let's use a simple forward example.
Transaction amount = $1,000
Fee rate = 2.99%
International fee = 1.50%
Fixed fee = $0.49
Step 1: Find the effective rate
Effective Fee Rate = 2.99% + 1.50%
Effective Fee Rate = 4.49%
Step 2: Find the percentage fee
Percentage Fee = $1,000 × (4.49 ÷ 100)
Percentage Fee = $44.90
Step 3: Add the fixed fee
Total Gateway Fee = $44.90 + $0.49
Total Gateway Fee = $45.39
Step 4: Find the net amount
Net Amount = $1,000 − $45.39
Net Amount = $954.61
So, the estimated gateway fee is $45.39. The remaining amount is $954.61.
Reverse Example
Suppose you want to receive $1,000 after fees.
Use:
Desired Net Amount = $1,000
Fee Rate = 2.99%
International Fee = 1.50%
Fixed Fee = $0.49
The effective rate is:
2.99% + 1.50% = 4.49%
Now:
Required Payment = ($1,000 + $0.49) ÷ (1 − 4.49 ÷ 100)
Required Payment ≈ $1,047.22
The estimated fee is:
$1,047.22 − $1,000 = $47.22
So, you need to charge about $1,047.22 to target a net amount of $1,000 under these fee inputs.
Manual fee math can take time. It can also lead to small errors.
This calculator gives a quick estimate from the values you enter. It can help you check payment costs, plan prices, compare fee rates, and estimate your expected net amount.
The reverse mode is useful when you have a fixed target. For example, you may want to receive a set amount after gateway charges.
The result depends on the values entered into the calculator.
The transaction amount changes the percentage fee. A larger payment creates a larger percentage charge.
The fee rate also affects the result. A higher rate means a higher fee.
The fixed fee adds a set charge to the transaction.
The international fee increases the effective rate when you enter one.
The selected currency changes how the amount is displayed. The calculator includes USD, BDT, EUR, GBP, and INR symbols.
Actual gateway pricing can vary by provider, country, payment method, currency, and account type. Use the current fee terms from your gateway when setting a real price.
An online seller can use forward mode to estimate the fee on a customer payment.
A freelancer can use reverse mode when they need to receive a set amount after fees.
An online store can also test different fee rates. This can help with price and payment planning.
A payment gateway fee calculator makes fee math simple. The forward mode finds the fee and net amount from a payment. The reverse mode finds the payment needed for a target net amount.
Remember that this calculator uses the rates and fees you enter. Always check your payment provider's current pricing before making a final business decision.
It estimates the fee taken from a payment. It can also find the payment needed to reach a target net amount.
The forward calculation multiplies the payment amount by the combined fee rate. It then adds the fixed fee.
You need the transaction amount or desired net amount. You also need the fee rate and fixed fee. An international fee is optional.
It starts with your desired net amount. It then solves for the gross payment using the combined percentage rate and fixed fee.
Yes. The calculator provides symbols for USD, BDT, EUR, GBP, and INR.
The formula is exact for the fee model used by this calculator. The displayed results use two decimal places. Real gateway charges may differ if the provider uses other fees or rules.
The amount, fee rate, fixed fee, and international fee can change the result. Gateway pricing rules can also vary.
